Kecak Dance | Uluwatu | Indonesia

During our trip to Bali, we stopped at the temple in Uluwatu to catch the breathtaking sunset and the kecak dance. The kecak dance tells the Ramayana story. However, this is not the typical Indonesian production of the story which usually involves the gamelan or wayang puppets. In the kecak dance, about 40 men come together chanting to imitate the traditional instruments used. Despite the throng of fanny-pack sporting, sock and sandal wearing tourists, it was still an enjoyable experience, topped off by the enchanting sunset over the temple on the cliff.
